Innovative solutions for energy rehabilitation plans
The Catalonian Energy Research IREC, partner of the Efficient Buildings Community, organized the Spanish Efficient Buildings Living Lab (EBLL) entitled “Innovative solutions for energy rehabilitation plans”. The Living Lab was articulated into six sessions on the 10, 17 and 23 of June, 8 and 15 of July and on the 29 of September 2021.
The Living Lab was organized as a training course that, starting from the review of the general concepts linked to the SECAPS (Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans) and SUMPS (Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans), presented the free access tools and methodologies of the Efficient Buildings Community: a set of instruments for optimizing the design, implementation and monitoring of energy rehabilitation measures, covering from data collection to the prioritization of the different retrofittings.
Four modular projects were presented covering different aspects of the renovations, evaluation and prioritization of retrofitting actions (PrioritEE project), financial evaluation and energy performance contracts (STEPPING project), evaluation and reduction of carbon footprint (Edufootprint project) and tools for preparing cost-effective energy renovation plans (IMPULSE project).
After reviewing the different available resources, the train phase of the course focused on three specific resources that support the development of mitigation actions, the “guideline for energy efficiency monitor and management in public buildings” from EduFootprint project and the “How to brief” and “Decision Support Tool” from PrioritEE project.
21 public and private entities from five different regions in Spain participated actively in the sessions. Over the last session of the course the different entities involved shared their experience and discussed the advantages and main conclusions after implementing the PrioritEE DST. The main conclusions and the main aspects discussed during the meeting can be found in a summary report.
A final dissemination webinar was held on the 3rd of November where all the process and resources were presented and also some study cases analysed by the entities involved. In addition, the Renewable Energy community and the Urban Transport community presented complementary activities and a representative of the Joint Secretariat introduced the future lines of the EUROMED programme.
