Energy & Climate Plan: Italy sent the proposal to the European Commission

The Italian government sent to the European Commission the proposal of the National Energy and Climate Plan as part of the European Energy Union

On the 8th January 2019, the Italian Ministry of Economic Development sent the proposal of the National Energy and Climate Plan to the European Commission. The document details the national energy targets for 2030 and the main actions to fulfill them.

In particular, Italy commits to increase renewable energy production to 30% and to reduce energy consumption by 43% (compared to 2007). Energy efficiency in buildings plays an important role for the achievement of this goal accounting for the main share of the total expected reduction.

Now the European Commission should evaluate the Italian contribution to the fulfillment of the European energy target for 2030.
